Sunday October 30th, it's going down.Last year, Remy Ma launched Chrome 23, a female battle rap league. The rap league had it's first <a href="https://www.hot97.com/educate/chrome-23-face-off-qb-black-diamond-vs-40-b-a-r-r-s">event</a>, "Queens Get the Money", back in February which was live-streamed <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT4gYMuljKY">here</a> on HOT 97. Following the success of that event, Remy Ma is launching a new battle rap competition, The Tournament. On October 10th, Remy took to Instagram to announce the line up for upcoming battle. Couture is the people’s champ of female battle rap. Mrs Worldstar earned a lot of fame after making Ms. Pak cry in a battle that ended up going viral.She is plagued with a reputation of having “antics” or gimmicks in her battles, but they make for a great show.If you watch Couture vs Phara Funeral (not yet released) you will realize that her bars are slept on. The difference between her and a lot of other girls is CLEAR WINS (and one debatable with O’fficial) - she just knows how to get the job done.We almost got a chance to see Couture vs Jaz the Rapper, but it didn't go down and she ended up in the BET cypher instead.

Ms. Hustle, "the First Lady of URL," got her title from being literally the first lady to ever battle on Ultimate Rap League.Hustle was a cypher rapper with many connections to the NYC rap scene, and she and Queen of the Ring battler E-Hart made hip-hop history as the two females to battle on an otherwise all-male card.She's known for her delivery, bar-heavy aggression, booming voice, actually good gun bars, and the fact that arguably half the "Top Ten Best Female Battles" have her in them. Hustle is notorious, but she isundeniably at the top of her tier, demonstrated by the fact that she is in so many classics: when girls come up against her, they have to come full-force.She battles the top girls at the top of their game, but has still yet to get bodied, and RapGrid's 2014 ranking of female battlers has her at #1.Ms. Fit has never been better than she was in her classic Hustle battle. QOTR ushered the inter-gender battle into the limelight when O-Red battled her as a main event, and this was before men battling women was a common thing.Ms. Hustle versus Gattas at URL's NOME4 was the battle of the night, not to mention one of the best female battles ever, and one of the best battles seen on URL's stage.

(the acronym, by the way, stands for "Bitches Always Respect Real Shit.")The Bostonian battle rapper is heralded across all leagues for her mesmerizing and expansive lyrical schemes, replete with complex wordplay, razor-sharp energy and performance, and ruthless, unrelenting personals. Her undefeated streak against many of the league's top tier competitors (Norma Bayts,Tori Doe, Phara Funeral, and Bonnie Godiva) followed by her debatable battle with URL legend Daylyt, led many to crown her the "Queen" of Queen of the Ring. However, an already infamous "classic" between her and Jaz the Rapper at QOTR's stacked #NHB card turned the tables when Jaz brutally 3-0'ed 40, even by her own admission.Now, 40's devastating loss has been attributed to the fact that she came totally under prepared, owing to the fact that she had three battles that week, but nonetheless, 40 B.A.R.R.S. was no longerthe untouchable force she once appeared to be. 40 is still one of the game's fiercest competitors of any gender.Her most recent battles had her edging hyped male rapper Cortez, and a non-QOTR femcee named Brisco. She was the first person to badly beat both Phara Funeral and Bonnie Godiva: two celebrated QOTR stars. Phara began to talk of retirement shortly after, and Bonnie left QOTR to be one of the first two females on KOTD (though they both still battle with the league.)She also knocked Tori Doe out of the game for two years after ripping into her because of Tori's glib tweets about getting an abortion. And after she (and immediately after, Couture) came full force at Norma Bayts, Norma dropped out of the game for over a year. Her reputation as a casket-closer still precedes her, and time will tell if the Jaz battle was just a rare fuck-up, or indicative of 40's reign coming to a close.
